The Unvarnished Truth! - A great family story coupled with a crime drama/who dunnit. I suspect there will be some negative , questionable, weird and seemingly exculpatory reviews. I would advise that readers conduct basic google searches on the people and transactions in question. Search LinkedIn. Search Jefferson County Clerks Office - everything is public information. Make your own judgment. Its mind boggling that in a big/small town like Louisville more people don’t know about this injustice. Libby’s book sheds some daylight on a lot of bad behavior. Some convicted, some curiously unaffected. She lays out that these were our neighbors , Our classmates, our coworkers, guests at holiday parties. They were pillars of the community , wealthy, had good jobs, good families and it wasn’t enough. Its just a matter of time before crowd sourced criminologists figure out who the FBIs unindicted co conspirator(s) are and i hope its soon. Double click and you can get there. I can’t wait to see how it ends!

It seems a cliche to say I could not put this book down; however, it is absolutely 100% true. It was so much more than just an autobiographical account of a wife discovering her husband is a white-collar criminal. As Libby's story unfolded, so many of her experiences as a woman, mom, and wife resonated with me. Many people deal with difficult family dynamics and parents with mental health issues. Sadly, people are often silent about these challenges and the opportunity to process, share, and connect with others is lost. Similarly, as a woman, wife, and mom, I found Libby's frank recounting of struggles with infertility, miscarriage, and a battle with hyperemesis gravidarum (all things that I have experienced) both familiar and validating.
There are a lot of sad, awful things that happen in this book, but these are tempered by Libby's ability to look at the horrible things unfolding around her with wry humor. This same humor was seen throughout the book as she shared many stories within her story and brought to life the people in her book. The characters, especially her parents and extended family, jump off the page.
The People in My House was an engaging, entertaining book, and I look forward to Libby Earle Henry's next book.

Henry is honest and raw, diving into her disruptive family dynamic—as a child and later as an adult. A powerful read, filled with emotional drama, including an arduous relationship with her mother and financial infidelity from her husband, that includes breaking the law. Loaded with fascinating stories told using colorful language and humor, Henry isn’t afraid to share unflattering moments or to laugh at herself. The People In My House is a vivid retelling of a woman’s growth from a painful childhood to an independent survivor. Her talent with words creates a warm, approachable and funny read. Readers will be left wanting to hear more from this talented new voice.

A very compelling read! I couldn't put it down. Very well written. The strength Libby shows to not only survive what she went through intact but to then put pen to paper is commendable. Libby and I went to school together, though we were never what I would call friends, we knew who each other were. I always saw the pretty popular girl that appeared to have everything anyone would want in life. What a wake up to read what her life was really like in high school and what she was going through. After reading her story, I now see a beautiful woman who can conquer anything!

Libby is an amazing story teller and this book captures so much "made for the movies" drama that unfolds in her real life. It is something you can relate to and something that teaches us all to be aware of those "red flags" in life that can lead us astray and tangled in a web of crazy! Knowing Libby as a child, I have recently reconnected with her and never knew she went through any of this. I am amazed at how poised she is, finally having a voice by writing this book, has awarded her soul some peace after years of drifting along a sea of deception and corruption where she had no fault, yet paid the price of her ex husband's actions. This book references how her childhood really played a role into the "why's" and the blending of the past stories and the future fate is well written! You will not be disappointed reading this!
